Reception

Melkevoll Bretun is a tourist center in the depths of the Olden valley
(Oldedalen). Amongst steep mountains and mighty waterfalls, the site lies
very close to several glaciers and the Jostedal national park. the famous
Briksdal Glacier is less than a one hour hike from the reception.
The Bretun is situated just before you reach the end of the road. We
have nice parking lots for day time visitors. We offer camping areas for
motor homes, caravans and tents. We also have camping huts and high
standard holiday cabins for rent. Or alternatively, we can recommend a
night spent in front of a fire in our Stone Age cave.
The buildings and surrounding paths harmoniously blend with the natural
surroundings, as a form of "land art". Here you will find beautiful natural
settings and one of the country's best bouldering sites.

In the main building, there is a reception, kiosk, cafe with internet
access, utility room, toilets, showers and a sauna. All of our guests have
access to the "Utelada", a large barn with a panorama view of the Melkevoll
Glacier, and with a central open hearth for bonfires and grilling.
Through the reception you can meet an Olden Aktiv tour guide, who is
available to guide you on a blue-ice tour of the Brenndal glacier, or
other exiting activities. Our centre is a great starting point for many
exciting hikes through the national park and in the mountains. The starting
point for the "Troll car" transport
to Briksdal Glacier is close by.
